“…Shifting explores a technique to get inside of a person’s mind and direct their thoughts. To say that it’s a psychological force would be a poor description, though it can be used in that way. It can also be used to learn what month, color, number, or letter a spectator may think of; and there are certainly other applications.

The Shifting procedure is very direct, and it’s seemingly out of the performer’s control. It appears to be nothing more than a quick mental exercise, exploring their thought processes in a simplistic way. At the end, we can then reveal one or two thoughts without any apparent means of communication between us.
